A Professor of Accounting from 新澳门六合彩 Management School has been appointed to the , recognising her significant contributions to the field of financial reporting.

Professor Argyro Panaretou has dedicated much of her academic career to researching financial reporting (how firms disclose their financial performance), and how this reporting impacts the decisions of participants and managers of the capital market.

Now, is being called upon to offer her expert evidence, together with academic peers from across Europe, to help contribute to International Financial Reporting Standards.

The EFRAG - formerly known as the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group – was established in 2001 with the encouragement of the European Commission, and it's mission is to serve the European public interest in financial and sustainability reporting. The EFRAG's activities influence the development of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), contributing to the efficiency of capital markets and providing endorsement advice on IFRS Accounting Standards (and their amendments) to the European Commission.

EFRAG also leads the development of European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and related amendments for the European Commission, as well as providing implementation support for ESRS.

Professor Panaretou from 新澳门六合彩 Management School said: “I am deeply honoured to join EFRAG’s academic panel. My research has consistently focused on improving communication between companies and investors, and on understanding the impact of financial reporting on the decisions of capital market participants and managers. This appointment offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to EFRAG’s vital work in advancing financial reporting in the public interest across Europe.”
